Berkeley sits just north of West Highland and runs north until you get to I-70. Berkeley has seen a rapid resurgence in the last 20 years and, in the last few years, has become one of the hottest districts of Denver as the prices in The Highlands have sky rocketed. Often referred to as "Upper Highland", Berkeley offers wonderful access to the hip shops, boutiques, restaurants, and bars of The Highlands as well as Downtown Denver. Very close to I-70, Berkeley residents enjoy easy commutes to all over the Denver Metro Area as well as the mountain towns to the west.
Berkeley is not all about proximity to it's neighboring hoods, however. Tennyson Street serves as the heartbeat of this hip, artsy, and funky section of Denver - with fantastic restaurants, shopping, and the always fun First Friday Artwalk. For those who love Denver for it's green spaces, Berkeley has you covered with quaint parks throughout the neighborhood and then the awesome Rocky Mountain Lake Park & Berkeley Lake on it's northern end. Berkeley even has it's own rec center, The William Scheitler Rec Center features a full gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and many other amenities.
The median sale price of a single family home in Berkeley in 2016 was $462,500. For a condo or townhouse, the median sale price was $6250,000 (the majority of condos/townhouses in Berkeley are newer, built since 2005). In 2016 there were a total of 283 homes sold in Berkeley; of those 140 were over $500,000 and 74 were under $370,000 (but only 37 of the sub $370,000 properties were houses, the rest were condos or townhouses).
